Example M2M VPN Application > Securely Connect Remote Monitoring Equipment to Command Center Server

Secure connection for sensitive remote site equipment (including transactional kiosks, payment terminals and other security oriented devices) can be enabled using VPN (IPSEC, PPTP and L2TP for example) connection over an existing network with WAN access. This allows the remotely connected device to be securely accessed by server-based applications located in command center or data-centers.

Example Solution

Secure M2M VPN via IPSEC to CISCO VPN server network

In this example, a sensitive monitoring device needs to be securely connect to a security service provider's server. The FATBOX BITNODE creates an encrypted IPSEC tunnel with a CISCO ASA to enable the remote monitoring device to network "locally" and securely with the server and other hosts on that VPN subnet.

Some of the features of the FATBOX BITNODE router that facilitates succesful implementation of this solution includes,

  • Designed for easy and direct configuration for IPSEC IKE PSK tunelling to a CISCO ASA VPN network
  • Compact and rugged design for working in demanding M2M type environments
  • Wide power supply range 5~30VDC to ensure stability of operation
  • Ability to work in demanding -20 to 65C operating temperatures
