FATBOX Router/Modem Functional Capabilities

  • Internet gateway via HSDPA/HSUPA/GPRS with PPP keep-alive and Auto Ping for robust connection
  • "Sleep" mode to disconnect PPP session upon data idle and "Wake" on data or external RING
  • SMS to Reboot function (e.g. in case of network PPP lock-up situations)
  • DMZ, Port Forwarding, Static Route (NAT) and advanced IP table scripting
  • VPN client supporting IPSEC (PSK), PPTP and L2TP
  • AT command to module over local Ethernet LAN port (FATBOX HSDPA and HSUPA)
  • Dynamic DNS client (e.g. DYNDNS and No-IP supported)
  • DUAL SIM for network switch-over upon failure (FATBOX GPRSV2)
  • WAN backup to HSDPA/HSUPA using AUTOPING or VRRP switch-over (FATBOX HSUPA)
  • Telnet and SSH console over GPRS/HSDPA/HSUPA to manage router
  • SNMPv1 client for remote network management
  • Serial port data encapsulated via TCP/IP or UDP on-board server or client


Customized Solutions

Most of our OEM and System Integrator customers integrate our standard FATBOX routers (with casing or board level) into their solutions. In some cases, it makes good business or engineering solution to customize the firmware or even modify the hardware (e.g. power supply rating, connectors, PCB shape or casing design) to optmize the overall solution. However, cost-wise it is usually not advantages to customize unless the roll-out are in at least hundreds of sites.
