DEMO
Incorporating data monitoring
with edge device controls
We set up a simple temperature control system for a HVAC facility by connecting up a nodeG5 Edge IoT Gateway to modbus temperature sensors and a fan system.
Using python scripts running on the gateway we achieved the following:
When a trigger temperature is reached, a script on the nodeG5 automatically activates a fan exhaust system to cool the facility down.
Allowing the user to override the fan controls from their monitoring dashboard.

Key features of the nodeG5 Edge IoT Gateway:
Data Collection & Logging: The nodeG5 collects and logs data from CAN bus J1939, OBD2, and Modbus TCP/RTU devices.
Cloud/Server Connectivity: Using the MQTT cloud protocol, it sends data to a server or cloud platforms like Azure or AWS for real-time monitoring.
Edge Computing: Users can run their own programs, scripts, or containers on the nodeG5 for customised control.
Industrial Certification: The robust gateway is suitable for industrial conditions and comes with FCC, CE and RCM certifications.
Various other applications of the same logic can be to control devices like PLCs, motor inverters or EV chargers to:
helping manage crop conditions in agriculture & urban farming
to control energy usage in buildings design
for critical intervention to prevent damage to goods, infrastructure or threats to health & safety
